torkell3 months on, and we've reached the grand final! Sadly AJ and Kai have had to withdraw due to injury, so it's down to a straight dance-off between Rose and Giovanni, and John and Johannes.

This is a very different set of finalists to last year. Both of them went in to Strictly very uncertain about whether they could or should be there, and both grew in confidence and ability and showed that deaf people and same-sex couples can dance and can reach the final. Oh, in 2020 the couples had their own journey of improvement, but it didn't have quite the same impact, and in 2021 the finalists didn't pick safe(ish) choices for the showdances and couple's choices but went all-out (as an example, Bill Bailey's Couple's Choice of Rapper's Delight is excellent, but it didn't have a segment of dancing without any music). And it shows in the final scores: tied at 119 points! I can't decide which is the better couple.

We've had a clearout of the prop cupboard, hope you don't mind us using the stage to store them! Stop - we need to teach the judges the hammer slide!
