You probably know about Google's G-mail, and how it offers 1GB of space. Well, Yahoo has struck back. This message appeared in my inbox today:

Dear Yahoo! Mail User,

Thanks for using Yahoo! Mail. It's our goal to offer you an email experience that makes it easy to stay in touch. Periodically, we make service changes to enhance that experience for our users. As of June 16, 2004 [actually, as of about ten minutes ago for me] , you'll enjoy the following benefits:

• Increased storage capacity – from your current level to 100MB
• Increase in individual message send/receive size from 3MB to 10MB
• An improved layout that’s even easier to use

You will continue to access your Yahoo! Mail account as usual. No further action is required, and there will be no interruption of your service.

I've used Yahoo for 5 or so years so far, changed account once (to switch from a US to a UK version and to change the account name), and only recently got an MSN account to use MSN messenger. I've always found Yahoo to be better, with both the e-mail and the messenger. The one annoying thing is that a few days ago I deleted a bunch of emails as I was near the space limit. If only this had happened a few days earlier :D

I thought it was because you had a us account and you wanted .hu instead but they wouldn't let you sign back up. You might be able to now - they're going to realease inactive account names.

I wanted a UK one, and told them I would have been unable to pay for their US services as opposed to the euro ones (which is a bit of a white lie, but I have it indeed easier to pay inside the EU than across the damn atlantic).  I unregistered ralesk and they never released it, however the system automatically banned it after me trying to register it again later.

They have the .hu domain for themselves and I have offered my translating services back then, no reply on that front — the site is still very empty.  The U.S. Customer Care crew suck tits.
