The 'Link-as-a-Viking' approach as applied to Breath of the Wild

Discussing Breath of the Wild combat with elemnar (almost entirely spoiler-free)...

elemnar: sounds like group battles are more common? Not like earlier games where a group of similar monsters would politely take turns. Or a group would be made up of simple monsters that didn't really fight back.
