torkellWell, that appears to have been successful. It'll take some time before I'm certain, due to how intermittent the problem is. Plus I've got to try the graphics drivers. But so far no clicks or pops, and that's with the USB IrDA dongle active (which hits the USB bus at regular intervals when searching)
