Record UK temperature for October set at 29.5°C

The record has been broken for the highest temperature recorded in October - at 29.5°C (85.1°F).

It was set at 13:27 in Gravesend, Kent, beating the previous 26-year record of 29.4°C (85.9°F) recorded on 1 October 1985, in the town of March, Cambridge.

Met Office forecaster Andrew Sibley said: "We are looking to see the highest sometime around 3pm, getting up to 30°C."

Edit: new record of 29.9°C, set at 14:42.

So would I- it's a brisk 95°F here in Arizona, and we are still just above normal for the end of september. (shoot, it was still triple digits earlier in the month!)

My dad wanted to move to Arizona when I was in third grade. All this time I've thanked my lucky stars he didn't (I'm from New York, I've never known anything else. I could never leave this city), but today I'm upset that he didn't. XD
