Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up the King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Hulloa boys, Hulloa boys, let the bells ring.
Hulloa boys, hulloa boys, God save the King!

Yes, that means it's the 5th of November, wherein us Brits one again celebrate Guy Fawke's failure to blow up the Houses of Parliement by setting off copious amounts of fireworks.

Most places have bonfires with an effigy of Guy Fawkes, except for Lewes where they also set fire to effigies of the Pope and of various unpopular politicians. I wouldn't be surprised if they have an effigy of David Cameron or Nick Clegg this year.
