Today's random encounter

Today's random encounter while out on a late evening walk was turning a corner to see a deer lit up in the eerie grey light of my torch. There was a moment when we just paused and looked at each other, both standing in the middle of the path, before it disappeared off into the misty night.

The surprise is the location, not far from where I last saw one in the middle of Fareham. I was walking through the middle of The Gillies, a local green space surrounded on all sides by housing. One would have thought that it'd be too urban for deer...
