Nov. 13th, 2010 11:01 pmIt's tempting to bulk out NaBloPoMo with memes, and indeed I usually save up a few during the year to use just here. I'm not doing that badly this year though: it's been a dozen days so far, and I've only posted three memes.
Anyway, today's random post topic is freeware games.
First up, Hero Core (trailer) is a wonderfully retro 2d shooter (with up to two colours simultaneously!), made by the creator of Iji. You control Flip Hero in his latest battle against his nemesis, Cruiser Tetron. Your primary objective is to destroy Cruiser Tetron once more, while your secondary objective is to prevent his return for all time. Only then will Flip Hero finally become your greatest hero.
Next recommendation is the white chamber, which is a point-and-click horror with plenty of nightmare fuel. You wake up on a seemingly abandoned space station with no knowledge of how you got there. As you explore you will find the answers, which lead you to the white chamber, the truth, and possibly even redemption. Do you regret? Are you ready?
Continuing with the theme, the final recommendation is Eversion. You control a little flower thing in a bright and colourful world, where you have to collect gems to save the princess. Seems like yet another Mario-esque platformer, but it does come with the warning "not indicated for children or those of a nervous disposition"...
