I picked up one of those plug-in energy monitors today, to have a play with and find out just how power-hungry stuff isn't. And, being the sort of person I am, I actually read the instructions that came with it.

The amusing part is the table giving the claimed accuracy of the different measurements:

Voltage: ± 5.0%
Current: ± 5.0%
Frequency: ± 0.2%
Active watts (W): ± 5.0%
Apparent power (VA): ± 5.0%
Kilowatt hours: ± 1.0%
