Right, my nice new Antec TruePower 430W powersupply has arrived. Time to go and swap them over. And due to the magic of hibernation, I don't even need to shut the computer down.

For posterity, and to show how badly fubar'd the current psu is:

(min/avg/max)
Core 1.79v (1.79/1.79/1.79)
+3.3 3.42v (3.42/3.42/3.42)
+5 4.76v (4.68/4.74/4.78)
+12 12.31v (12.31/12.32/12.37)
Case 26°C (24/25/26)
CPU 48°C (30/43/48)

...and I'm back! New figures (no min/max yet):

Core 1.79v
+3.3 3.42v
+5 4.95v
+12 12.07v
Case 25°C
CPU 43°C

Those look a lot better. The new supply even has a nice large 120mm fan, which as I type is slowly rising from 850rpm to 1028rpm (and on up) as the system *literally* warms up.

My new TV card comes with a IR receiver and remote.

A quick bit of googling and poking around with files shows that a) it's INI-based, b) it will accept a lot more than just the remote it comes with, and c) it looks to be ridiculously easy to extend. It mostly operates by sending keystrokes to applications. I can easily knock up a VB prog to take said keystrokes and do more fun stuff with them

I have a couple of spare remotes kicking around here, which I've been toying with rigging up to my computer for a few years now. The only problem's been finding a suitable reciever chip, and making it play ball under Win2k (suprisingly hard).

This should be fun.

FM reception is stunning, not so sure about the TV reception. But that's probably because FM is provided by a nice old-skool T-shaped antenna stuck to my wall, while TV is provided by an ikkle set-top thingy.

Plus I'm getting no sound with the TV. *tinkers*
