Exim? What are you doing to my network? If Charon sprouts a port-forward on 25, I will be looking at you very hard, since I'd like to be sure it's secure. Open-Relay on glasshalfempty == FALSE, mmkay?
If I ever put an open relay on there, it'd be an evil open relay that accepted the message, thought about it for a minute, then threw it back at the sender along with an additional... payload...
What I'm planning on is tinkering with my Exim config at uni such that if someone sends me one of these stupid spam emails, it gets saved to /Mail/Bulk, *and* bounced to sender in the nastiest way possible. That way I get to look at it to see if it was actually useful and to forward it to ITS for their Ban Hammer targeting system, and the senders mailbox gets clogged with evil bounce messages.
What is all this talk of metaphorical hammers? Why not just find something a bit more substantial and err, weighty and hit either the user, the machine, or for maximum point making goodness, both...
