I think the battery was flat in *exactly* the right way to cause it. The LCD viewfinder was updating the image only, and not the exposure/arpeture, and none of the controls did anything. I had to actually take the battery out!

(and of course when I switched it back in it then got rather unhappy about the lens not having been retracted and made some nasty gear-clunking noises for a bit. Seems fine now)

I'm not sure if there's any electronic gizmos left that I haven't crashed or wedged in some way. I've manged to wedge my cellphone as well, and a Belkin KVM switch (no suprise there).
