You know the way most installers display some pictures while they're copying the files across/mangling the registry/fscking with the computer? It's just occured to me that quite a few of them stick a great big progress bar on top of those pictures, to the point with some where all you see are the edges of the picture. ANd of course, installers now go so fast that you don't have time to drag the box over so you can see this amazing piece of art (or whatever). So where's the point? I know the historical reason for them, but nowadays there doesn't seem to be one.
