Evening stroll

torkellSunday before last, I went on a stroll east of Fareham, almost as far as Portchester...
To the left, Portchester, then Portsmouth, and then the open sea.
To the right, Fareham, the creek, Gosport, the Solent, and the Isle of Wight.
And in the middle, the Spinnaker Tower catching the evening sun.
Continuing up and over the M27, with the sun dipping below the horizon.
Catching the sun once again, up on the end of the downs.
Returning home once again, as the distant clouds sail by.
Following forgotten paths, through fields of gold.
With the red evening sky, giving delight to shepherds.
