Mini-updates

I've now managed to track down a USB-C-to-USB-female-A cable so I can plug a keyboard into my phone. There is something mildly ludicrious about tapping away on a full-sized keyboard dangling from a small smartphone, but it does mean I can now write up blog posts directly in the LiveJournal app without cursing all modern touchscreen keyboards (I miss my old PalmPilot and its Graffiti writing system). The only downside is it did cost me £19 for a 2-inch cable, because the only one I could find in Horsham was Apple's own brand. Yes, I have now willingly bought an Apple product 😲

I also got the Alfa back after the service today - 'twas quite a cheap service this year which is nice. Next year will be expensive however as a lot of service intervals all line up (including cambelt). In the meantime I ought to sort out replacement front tyres for it as they're running a bit low on tread. There's ~3.5mm left which may seem like plenty (the legal limit is 1.6mm), but performance drops off quite sharply as you approach that so its worth my while to get them done before winter sets in.
