Swans and cygnets
May. 6th, 2014 06:32 pmI missed yesterday's photo (I've taken it, but getting it off the camera requires some work as you'll find out), so to make up for it here's two!
In the lakes behind work there's a nesting pair of swans. Last week, the nest looked like this:
Sometime over the long weekend the eggs must have hatched, for when I walked past today there were a couple of fuzzy little heads poking up from underneath the swan's wings:
Further down in one of the other lakes I also spotted a mallard shepherding a raft of tiny little ducklings. It's that time of year when the ponds are full of baby ducklings, goslings and cygnets.
