Record UK temperature for October set at 29.5°C

The record has been broken for the highest temperature recorded in October - at 29.5°C (85.1°F).

It was set at 13:27 in Gravesend, Kent, beating the previous 26-year record of 29.4°C (85.9°F) recorded on 1 October 1985, in the town of March, Cambridge.

Met Office forecaster Andrew Sibley said: "We are looking to see the highest sometime around 3pm, getting up to 30°C."

Edit: new record of 29.9°C, set at 14:42.

...annnnd today's weird event is seeing, in the middle of town, a group of vampires with a captured zombie.

Now, I could understand that happening in Brighton (where vampires and zombies are almost a daily occurrence to the point where Sussex uni even had a zombie society), but in Fareham?
