Date: 2008-07-08 07:31 pm (UTC)There's a Firefox plugin called "View Dependencies" that I use when troubleshooting sites that tell me how much content is actually being loaded when i load a page. Some pages range up to the hundreds of megs range. My response to them is "no WONDER your site takes a long time to load! Do you have any idea how much data you're telling their browser to get from your site?"
I'm sure it happens in other areas of the web. I'm just writing about what I know.
