Today's discovery is that the left earphone in my current set has completely died. The earpiece itself is fine, and I've narrowed it down to a break in the left signal wire (which, since the plug is moulded, would probably cost me in parts as much to repair as a new pair of earphones).

Gah.

Why must all my earphones break after a year?

Edit: ok, Murphy is definetely mocking me today. The first pair of earphones I hauled out of the dead pile actually work fine.

I have taken to adding hot melt glue to mine at all the weak points, like the in-line volume. I find they always go first so I am giving them on less reason.
