I just wonder, who the fuck had the idea to have poppies for the symbol flower of this Day? They never bloom in November o.O; At least I don’t think they did…

There's a bit about it over here. I think the basic reason is that poppies were about the only thing that grew in the aftermath, and probably also from the reference to poppies in In Flander's Fields
