Strictly reveals that they'll be responsible for the robot uprising, by generating an endless series of dancebots...
Okay, the BBC's vfx team is just showing off now by adding yet more robot dancers into the AR video. The AR this year has been stunning - last year it was something of a gimmick, but this time they've graduated to three-dimensional figures that remain anchored in space as the camera pans around and views them from different angles. They've even managed it with the projection on the dance floor - the towering castle from Rose and Giovanni's dance to Frozen was particularly impressive as it merged into the floor projection even as the camera moved. AR's come on a long way since the early days of the virtual swingometer!

It took me a few moments to realise those were tassels on the dancers' leggings and not eighties wibbly wobbly video effects!
Dance-off
Well, going into this I would have expected Tilly and Nakita's samba to be easily defeated by Rhys and Nancy waltz - but after that dance-off I'm less sure. The waltz was just as elegant as yesterday, but no-one can say Tilly and Nakita didn't give their all into that samba...
