Today's discovery is that computers get a bit miffed by multiple short powercuts about 3 minutes apart, and do everything from work perfectly to eat their filesystem in interesting ways.

Now, how do I reset the clock on that microwave...

Unplug it til midnight/1am/12noon, etc, whereby it will automatically reset to the chosen time! You can automate this process by making a ntp disciplined power point switcher.
